This plein air painting depicts a street scene in the town of Enniscorthy. I painted this outdoors, during  the ‘Art in the open’ festival in Co. Wexford. What attracted me to the view, is the looming presence of Vinegar Hill, the top of which was shrouded in low clouds, in the background. It being a plein air painting, I had to use quick brushstrokes and some vibrant colour contrasts to depict the town’s buildings, contrasting with the hill’s looming presence.
